At a glance
Australia’s February intake lines up neatly with an Indian degree finishing in May or June, which removes the awkward gap year that a September start can create. Seven Australian universities sit in the global top hundred, and post-study work rights extend further for graduates who study in regional areas.
Who it suits
Students finishing their bachelor’s in the Indian academic year who want to start quickly, and anyone targeting nursing, engineering, accounting, IT or hospitality where Australian qualifications carry weight.
What it costs
Tuition is ₹15–28 lakh a year, living costs ₹10–14 lakh. Students can work up to 48 hours a fortnight during term, which covers a meaningful share of living expenses.
What we watch for in your file
- The Genuine Student requirement. Your statement must show a coherent link between your past study, this course and your plans, vague answers are refused.
- Financial capacity evidence, including who is funding you and how they earned it.
- Regional study options, which can add years to your post-study work rights and reduce living costs.
Deadlines to plan around
February intake applications should be filed by October, and July intake by March. Visa processing needs a clear two to three months.
